Artistic Director Jatinder Verma is directing a new Operetta written by Farrukh and Danyal Dhondy as part of the Tête à Tête festival at Riverside Studios.
Rudyard Kipling wrote the Just So Stories to entertain his Best Beloved infant son and daughter. He created in prose a primitive world of mythical transformations through which a Leopard got his spots, a Rhino his thick skin, a Whale his throat, and dogs, horses, cows and cats became domesticated.
Farrukh and Danyal Dhondy's operetta takes the renowned characteristics of these creatures, and retells the stories mostly in verse, exploring them through modern operatic voices and action.
Farrukh and Danyal are long standing friends of Tara Arts. We will see Danyal return to Tara in our production of Kanjoos - The Miser as the musical director.
Just So runs 2 - 3 August @ Riverside Studios
